Nora Miller, Principal Interior Designer and Historic Preservationist, Director of High Performance and Sustainable Design

 

Nora brings to Southern Evergreen a knowledge of architecture and culture born from having lived in more than 18 places around the world.
Having seen design from around the globe, Nora is uniquely qualified to blend different styles and tastes to meet each homeowners needs. Starting with her grandmother’s wonderful shingled Victorian home in Baltimore, Md., to the castles of Germany,  Nora’s love of design and architecture has continue to grow.

 

Nora graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelors of Science in Housing and Interior Design. In addition, Nora has added to her education with a curriculum in Historic Preservation Technology, and is a "Certified Green Professional" a designation of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Historic Preservation has come to be a great love of Nora’s work. Nora is a co-author of Summerfield’s National Register Historic District nomination and a member of the team that updated Alamance County’s Historic Architecture Survey.


Her knowledge of local architecture and history is extensive. Several years ago, Nora’s knowledge helped Randolph County in the rebuilding of the historic Pisgah Church Covered Bridge, built in 1911, that was damaged by a tremendous flood. Additionally, Nora has worked with other agencies of North Carolina including the State Historic Preservation Office.


When not creating great design or preserving historic structures, Nora resides with her family in Greensboro and two college age daughters.
Nora's responsibilities at Southern Evergreen include coordination of all phases of interior design, cabinetry and kitchen/bath design, and historic preservation.
