Strong Foundations

In 1998, Tom Garcia formed Garcia Homes, Inc. to fulfill a lifelong desire to build custom homes in Greensboro, NC. Four years later, his company earned the distinction of becoming the Piedmont Triad’s exclusive builder of Southern Living Custom Builder Program.

Southern Evergreen Blossoms

Tom transformed Garcia Homes into Southern Evergreen, LLC in 2006 to fulfill his vision of assembling a team of professionals to assist customers with all phases of the home building process. The in-house team consists of an Architect, Interior Designer, General Contractor and Real Estate Agent.

Full-Service Firm

Southern Evergreen is a full-service design, building and real estate firm serving the Piedmont Triad in North Carolina. Our in-house team makes all the difference and takes the pressure off our clients. Offering all the services within the same company that the client may need -including architecture, interior design, construction and real estate – brings every project together seamlessly. Our clients don’t waste time talking to lots of different vendors. We coordinate the communication to ensure the flawless completion of each job. Your home will be built and renovated by master craftsman who focus on the smallest details.

Southern Evergreen is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist(CAPS). This means that we think about accessibility when designing and building. We have modified homes to care for aging clients and built several mother-in-law suites.

Going Green

Southern Evergreen is the first firm in North Carolina to preserve a historic home to Certified Green standards. In 2008, Southern Evergreen was one of the first builders in North Carolina to be designated a Certified Green Professional (CGP) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). As a high performance firm, we consider the entire building in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability.

Southern Living Excellence Continues

For 10 straight years, Southern Evergreen has been included in the nation’s leading builder program. Only 100 builders from around the country receive this honor each year. Southern Living carefully selects members based on their reputation among local businesses and consumers; strength of presence in their respective markets; superior quality and attention to detail; and innovative style. Builders are required to re-apply each year and are evaluated by Southern Living to assure they have met their strict standards.
